When an event completes, admins can add a recap and a recording link. Tightknit also sends a private notification to the event creator as a reminder. Recaps are added to all of the channels the event was originally published to, and you can return at any time to update one. If every field is left blank, the recap messages are deleted.

Adding a Recap in Studio

Go to Events under Engagement and open the event. From the actions menu next to Edit, choose Add recap (or Edit recap if the event already has one). The dialog has three fields:
  • Recap message - The body of the recap. Enter key takeaways, highlights, summaries, links, and so on.
  • Event recording link - A video link (YouTube, Vimeo, and similar) shown alongside the recap. It must start with https://.
  • Broadcast recap to channel - Post the recap as a reply on the event’s Slack announcement.
Click Save recap.

In the Event Recap panel you can configure:
  • Recap Message - the body of the recap message
  • Event Recording Link - a link to a video recording of the event
  • Broadcast Recap Message to Channel - whether the broadcast message is additionally broadcasted as a new message to the entire channel (see Recap structure in Slack)

Recap Structure in Slack

When you add a recap to an event, it is added as a reply on the original event announcement Slack message. This is helpful for users following the announcement thread. You may optionally choose to broadcast the recap message to the entire channel so that all its users will see the recap update. The image below is an example of a broadcasted recap added to the Pinnacle Solution's 10th Anniversary! event:

Tightknit will also remove any registration-related buttons and add a View Recording button (if a recording link is provided).
