# Data sync reliability

> Learn how Slack event-delivery limits can affect data synced to Tightknit.

## Slack event-delivery limits

Tightknit receives Slack activity through the Events API, for which Slack applies event-delivery limits at the workspace level. A surge from any app or bulk action in your workspace, such as many channel membership changes, can exhaust that limit. This can happen even when mass activity does not originate from Tightknit. When Slack rate-limits event delivery for a workspace, it drops events before they reach Tightknit. If your workspace uses another app that causes surge events and rate limits for the workspace, Tightknit cannot guarantee recovery of data from that window, including messages, reactions, and other activity that Slack did not deliver.

If you believe an important Slack activity did not sync, contact [Tightknit Support](/support/contact).
